Comet Neowise at the West Mersea Beach Huts
My alarm woke me this morning at 1:20am, time to go comet hunting!
When I arrived at West Mersea 20 minutes later, Comet Neowise was already rising in the sky, I had the beach to myself apart from a small group of drunk and happy people around their camp fire.
Almost all the street lights were switched off, apart from a few security lights in the nearby holiday park.  I set up my tripod and camera in front of four of the iconic beach huts and waited a moment for the moon to be covered by cloud before taking my shot, Comet Neowise immediately looking much more visible in my five second exposure.  Success! I waited a few more minutes for the moon to be revealed again, so I could take another shot with the beach huts illuminated.
